- Mix water, cornmeal, mozzarella cheese, butter, salt, ½ tsp lime zest, and ¼ tsp garlic powder together in a large bowl. Knead until soft, silky dough forms. Form dough into 6 equal sized balls. Flatten the dough balls between your hands into small disks. You can also use a tortilla maker or parchment paper with a rolling pin. Not too thin!
- Spray a pan with cooking spray and cook each arepa over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
