Ingredients
Method
- Cook 8 slices of bacon until crisp over medium-high
- Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Divide 1 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions (¼ lb each).
- Gently form patties slightly wider than your buns. They'll cook down.
- Season both sides with salt + pepper (and garlic powder if using).
- Heat a skillet/griddle to medium-high.
- Cook patties 3–4 minutes on the first side.
- Flip, cook 2–4 minutes more (to your doneness). 165℉ internal temperate.
- Add cheddar on top during the last minute; cover pan briefly to melt.
- Toast buns cut-side down in the bacon fat (or butter) until golden.
- Spread your favorite sauce on bun.
- Add patty with melted cheddar, lettuce, and tomato slices.
- Stack 2 bacon strips on each burger and enjoy.
Notes
Optional upgrade: Mix bacon crumbles with a spoon of your sauce for a “bacon-mayo” sprinkle.
