Relive the magic of Short Circuit with an Astoria, Oregon–inspired movie night featuring themed food, drinks, decor, and activities the whole family will love.

Short Circuit Themed Night

Short Circuit is a charming 1980s sci-fi comedy about a military robot struck by lightning that suddenly becomes self-aware and curious about the world. Escaping the lab and wandering into Astoria, Oregon, the robot, Johnny 5, begins discovering life, friendship, and what it means to be alive.

It’s a perfect family movie night because it blends goofy comedy, adventure, and heart. At its core, the film celebrates:

  • Curiosity and learning (“Need input!”)

  • Friendship and compassion

  • Seeing humanity in unexpected places

  • Questioning how technology should be used (appropriate in this Ai focused world)

It’s basically E.T. meets retro robotics, with Oregon coastal vibes and a robot who just wants pizza and kindness.
